Education outreach activities beyond campus

Thai Language Learning Enhancement Program for Highland Communities

               On May 20 – 22, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Uraiwan Hanwong, Associate Dean, along with faculty members and students from the Primary Education Program, and staff from the Academic Services Unit of the Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University, organized the project: Thai Language Learning Enhancement Program for Highland Communities in accordance with the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, for the fiscal year 2024. The team conducted activities focusing on the integration of learning processes with local identity, utilizing local dialects, and developing learning media to enhance reading, writing, and daily communication skills for teachers and 150 students from nine schools: Ban Yang Pao School, Ban U Tum School, Ban Na Kian School, Ban Phi Pan Nuea School, Ban Mae Khong School, Ban Hang Luang School, Ban Bai Na School, Ban Mae Sate School, and Ban Yang Kaew School. The event took place at Ban Yang Kaew School, Omkoi District, Chiang Mai Province. Program objectives were to create collaborative learning processes to develop Thai language teaching management between teachers and the working team, elevate the quality of Thai language teaching and student learning outcomes concretely, and expand practical learning activities for students and teachers into the community and nearby schools.

 

 

 

English Day Camp for Navamindarajudis Phayap School

 

                 

                  The Faculty of Education’s Academic Service Unit partnered with the English major to deliver an English language immersion day camp for students at Navamindarajudis Phayap School on August, 3, 2024. This ad-hoc activity responded to specific school needs for enhanced English language learning opportunities.

 

Knowledge Transfer of Multicultural Cuisine to Foster Creative Economy in Wat Gate Area

                 On September 1, 2024, a researcher at the Tourism Research and Development Center, Multidisciplinary Research Institute, Chiang Mai University, organized the 3rd Knowledge Transfer Activity on Multicultural Cuisine in the Wat Gate area. The event took place at Wat Gate Community, Chiang Mai Province. The Knowledge transfer activity on Multicultural Cuisine in the Wat Gate area is part of the academic service project titled “Enhancing Multicultural Cuisine in the Wat Gate Area to Strengthen the Creative Economy.”

 

Seminar Activity: Guidelines for Communicating the Image and Meaning of the Logo and Packaging for the Distilled Spirits of Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise

 

              The seminar activity, “Guidelines for Communicating the Image and Meaning of the Logo and Packaging for the Distilled Spirits of Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise,” was held under the project “Creation of Consumption Patterns and Logo Design for the Distilled Spirits of Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai Province,” on November 9, 2024, at the Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai Province.

             Dr. Pachernwaat Srichai, a researcher from the Multidisciplinary Research Institute (MDRI), Chiang Mai University, along with the Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise, community leaders, and entrepreneurs, co-organised the seminar on the “Guidelines for Communicating the Image and Meaning of the Logo and Packaging for the Distilled Spirits of Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise” under the project “Creation of Consumption Patterns and Logo Design for the Distilled Spirits of Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai Province,” on November 9, 2024, at the Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai Province. The objective was to foster a common understanding in communicating the image and meaning of the logo and packaging for the distilled spirits of the Ton Mai Chamcha Community Enterprise, as well as to discuss precautions in the development of community spirits concerning social, environmental, and legal aspects. This is to ensure accurate and consistent understanding, leading to maximum benefit for both producers and consumers.

Cold Wind Warm Hearts Camp (Sai Lom Nao Pan Jai Un)

 

               From December 7 to 9, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Sunee Nguenyuang, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Nutjira Busadee, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Chinawatra Kaiket, Advisor to the Volunteer Development and Public Service Club, and Lecturer Dr. Prakorn Tuisry, Lecturer from the Physical Education Program, along with staff from the Student Development Affair Section, led a group of 60 students to organize the “Cold Wind Warm Hearts” Camp at Ban Wang Kong School, Bo Luang Sub-district, Hot District, Chiang Mai Province. This volunteer project involved renovating classrooms and improving the school environment to be more conducive to student learning activities. The group also presented learning materials and equipment kindly supported by benefactors. Participating in this activity not only allowed students to practice collaboration and teamwork but also provided an experience that reflects the cultivation of essential teaching attributes, particularly in fostering positive relationships between the school and the community.

Teachers Outside the Classroom: Cultivating Knowledge for Large Forests with Sustainable Disaster Preparedness  

 

                On December 18 – 20, 2024, Lecturer Dr. Chayanid Yimsawat, Advisor to the Community Knowledge Integration Club, together with staff from the Student Development Affair Section, led 56 students to organize the activity titled “Teachers Outside the Classroom: Cultivating Knowledge for Large Forests with Sustainable Disaster Preparedness”. The objective of this activity was to promote learning and knowledge exchange among the members of the Community Knowledge Integration Club and the participants, enabling them to apply the knowledge in their daily lives. Furthermore, the activity aimed to develop essential working skills for the club members that are necessary for their future teaching profession. The event was held at Ban Mae Na School, Mae Na Sub-district, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province.
