Schools Program (FORRU-CMU)

CMU through its Forest Restoration Research Unit (FORRU-CMU), offers comprehensive educational programmes on ecosystems for local and national communities. The Schools Programme provides hands-on learning about tropical forest ecology, biodiversity, and conservation of wild flora and fauna. Activities include forest walks to observe native species, seed germination practice, nursery techniques, and studying how forests regenerate naturally. Students explore plant life histories, animal habitats, and ecosystem interactions through field visits to Doi Suthep and Mae Sa forests. The programme serves both Thai and international schools, with content tailored to age groups and curricula. All participants receive educational materials including the Grow a Forest cartoon book. By integrating research with practical education, FORRU-CMU enhances public understanding of biodiversity conservation and sustainable ecosystem management, fostering environmental stewardship within communities.
