        Chiang Mai University demonstrates exemplary commitment to fostering cross-sectoral dialogue for sustainable development through strategic partnerships with government agencies and private sector organizations. These multistakeholder partnerships create collaborative platforms where diverse societal sectors pool resources to develop innovative solutions addressing SDG-related challenges.

Building Foundations for Sustainable Education with Nestlé Thailand

        On August 26, 2025, Chiang Mai University’s Educational Quality Development Office organized a strategic academic cooperation meeting with Nestlé (Thailand) Company Limited. Associate Professor Dr. Charin Techapant, Vice President of CMU, along with university executives and faculty representatives, welcomed Ms. Kamonwan Jaruthat, HR Business Partner, and Nestlé Thailand representatives to discuss collaborative approaches advancing education toward sustainability.
This cross-sectoral dialogue focused on Future Skills curriculum development, Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education systems, and ESG-aligned sustainability initiatives. The partnership establishes frameworks for knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and capacity building. Representatives toured CMU’s sustainability excellence centers, exchanging perspectives on comprehensive energy, environment, and food innovation development. The collaboration will develop graduates with high competencies through integrating learning with practical work experience.

 

Integrating Digital Health Platforms for Public Health Advancement

 

 

          On August 5, 2025, Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University (CMU), and Assist.Prof.Narain Chotirosniramit, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, welcomed Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, for signing a Memorandum of Understanding on “Linking Public Health Service Data on the Digital Health Platform and Data Sharing Agreement.” This government-university collaboration establishes systematic health data integration, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning efficiency through effective cross-sectoral cooperation between national healthcare systems and academic medical institutions.

Environmental Sustainability through Regional Collaboration

         On August 7, 2024, the Office of Academic Services at Chiang Mai University joined Chiang Mai Rajabhat University’s institutes to formalize cooperation on “Driving Social Ecosystems toward Livable and Sustainable Cities.” This regional partnership promotes cross-sectoral dialogue addressing environmental management and greenhouse gas reduction through capacity building, curriculum development, and Carbon Credit promotion activities.

        These strategic partnerships demonstrate CMU’s leadership in initiating cross-sectoral dialogue about sustainable development goals, creating platforms where government, private sector, and academic institutions collaborate through international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and capacity building initiatives.
