Postharvest Management for Perishable Crops and Food Loss Control

 

The Postharvest Technology Innovation Center, in collaboration with the Postharvest Technology Research Center, Chiang Mai University, organized a training course on “Postharvest Management for Perishable Crops and Food Loss Control” from February 27–29, 2024.

 

The training was held at the meeting room of the Postharvest Technology Research Center, Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University. A total of 20 participants attended the course, including farmers, entrepreneurs, government and private sector officials, as well as lecturers and students. In addition to the classroom sessions, the participants also visited the agricultural produce management process at the packing house of the Royal Project Foundation Production Center in Mae Hia Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province, for a study tour.

 

 

Principles of Food Processing from Agricultural Products for Value Addition:

Making Kimchi and Fermented Pork

 

On August 21-24, 2024, the Faculty of Agro-Industry, in collaboration with the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), San Kamphaeng Branch, Chiang Mai, organized a workshop focused on food and beverage entitled “Principles of Food Processing from Agricultural Products for Value Addition: Making Kimchi and Fermented Pork,” was attended by over 70 bank clients, divided into two groups. The workshop took place at the Faculty of Agro-Industry, with Assistant Professor Dr. Pilairak Inthipanya, a lecturer of Food Science and Technology division, serving as the training instructor.

 

 

Integrated Tilapia Farming Innovation for Sustainable Productivity and Income Enhancement

 

On September 21–22, 2024, Mr. Somsak Jeerat, an Agricultural Scientist at the AIRID Center, participated in the “Integrated Tilapia Farming Innovation for Sustainable Productivity and Income Enhancement” project. This event was part of the Area-Based Agricultural Innovation Driving Project (Fiscal Year 2024), organized by the Upper Northern Regional Branch Operations Division.
