Chiang Mai University Advances Global Health Through Strategic Partnerships and Community Healthcare Initiatives
Chiang Mai University demonstrates commitment to improving health outcomes through collaborations with healthcare institutions at local, national, and global levels, addressing communicable diseases, maternal health, and healthcare access for women and vulnerable populations.

The Faculty of Nursing hosted the international conference “Global Health Recalibration 2024: Strengthening Outcomes, Education, Clinical Practice, and Research” during September 4-6, 2024. This collaboration with Columbia University, Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Michigan, University of Adelaide, University of Illinois at Chicago, Kagawa University, and Taipei Medical University attracted 433 participants from 18 countries. The program featured 236 research presentations and 15 international expert speakers, facilitating knowledge exchange on health education, clinical practice, and research collaboration to strengthen global health outcomes.
WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery

The World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Development at Chiang Mai University Faculty of Nursing, designated since September 2003, serves as part of the Global Network of 36 WHO Collaborating Centers worldwide. The center routinely conducts workshops and training to strengthen capacity among nurses and midwives regionally, having trained healthcare professionals from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and other countries. Faculty members develop clinical practice guidelines and serve as WHO consultants for institutions and government agencies throughout Thailand and Southeast Asia, promoting gender equality in healthcare professions, enhancing reproductive health services, family planning programs, and addressing infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, and maternal health challenges affecting women and children.
Health Impact Assessment Forum 2024

Chiang Mai University collaborated with the National Health Commission Office, Department of Health, Rajabhat Chiang Mai University, Prince of Songkla University, and partner organizations to organize the HIA Forum during August 15-16, 2024. This forum demonstrated health impact assessment applications supporting healthy cities initiatives targeting 1,000 municipalities by 2027. Chiang Mai University showcased partnership with Sri Bua Ban Municipality promoting mental health and women’s participation through community development.
These 2024 collaborations demonstrate sustained commitment to strengthening health systems through global, national, and local partnerships, contributing to universal health coverage, disease prevention, and improved health outcomes with attention to gender equality and women’s health.
